Learning musicality benefits us in so many ways. Whether it’s developing discipline, setting a routine, or building self confidence. Musicianship can benefit us at any age. For children, music helps with the development of motor skills, abilities in pattern seeking, language development, and so much more. For adults, learning a new skill does not just fulfill a personal sense of growth and accomplishment, but increases the plasticity of our brains. Is it ever too early or too late to start learning a new skill? Never!
“Beginning my musical career in 2000, I began formal voice training as well as choral involvement, sometimes being involved in up to four musical groups at a time, per season, regularly until 2014. In 2009, I expanded my musical education through the CAP program at California Institute of the Arts, where I continued to develop and foster both my vocal and instrumental skills, until 2014. It was also in 2009, that I would win a scholarship in recognition of my voice to be used to further my training.
In 2010, I began accepting paid singing work, as well as starting some voice and instrumental tutoring for children under the age of 10. In 2013, I was accepted into the internship program with the Santa Clarita Master Chorale, and continued for a second season in 2014, after which, I left for college.
Since 2014, I have been regularly hired for songwriting and singing, live or recorded, as well as music education for students of all ages. From 2018-2021, I was the music facilitator for a charter school grades tk-12, and developed their instrumental and choral music program in the classroom, until I left to pursue a musician position at a studio in Los Angeles.”
